Department of Political Science

INTRODUCTION

The Department of Political Science was established in September 2010 under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Mansoor Akbar Kundi-The Worthy Vice Chancellor of Gomal University. The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Faisal Kareem Khan Kundi inaugurated the new Department. The program was initially started in the Department of Public Administration. Later in 2011, the Department of Political Science took its separate entity.

As a newly established department, all the efforts of the Department administration and faculty are focused in developing both the academic and physical infrastructure of the department.

The department has started MA Political Science two years, BS Four years & M.Phil Political Science two year program program and intends to offer further programs in future.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the department is to provide comprehensive academic training to the students by enhancing their Theoretical and philosophical understanding of Political Science and to enable them fit in every competitive environment.

Regularly update the curriculum in line with the latest research.
Adopt the participatory method to produce self confident & assertive administration.
Facilitate the students in personality Development.
Focus on Discipline for inculcating better time management.
Practicing effective system of feedback through advocating reforms in evaluation of the students for their time reinforcement

OBJECTIVES

1. Standardizing research procedures focusing on both theory & field work to prepare students for problem solving role in their future career.

2. Making all possible efforts to enhance the knowledge base and teaching skill of members through research projects, training programs, provisions of up-to-date literature, opportunities for improving qualifications.

3. Producing responsible citizenry & leadership.
