The postgraduate program of Commerce was initially started in
the former University College of Commerce in September1982;
after ward in 1983 the classes were shifted to Department of
Business Administration and the Department was renamed as
Commerce and Business Administration Department (CBA). The
Department was running under the Administrative control of CBA
up to April 2006, but due to creation of so many programs, it
was necessitated to establish a full fledged Department of
Commerce apart from the CBA So the Department of Commerce was
established on April 27, 2006.
The Department of Commerce is striving to provide a frame work
within which all students are enabled to devote their academic,
